About New Wellington Pub

Our Story

From Family Frustration to a Community Favourite

It all started with two families — 10 hungry mouths, a love for a good carvery, and the simple dream of finding somewhere that ticked all the boxes: great food, affordable prices, and a place where the kids could play while the adults could relax.

Sounds easy enough, right?

Well, we quickly found out it wasn’t.

We spent weekend after weekend searching for that perfect pub — somewhere big enough to seat us all, with hearty portions, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. But time and again, we came up short. The options were either too expensive, too cramped, or simply didn’t have that warm, family-friendly feel we were looking for.

Then one day, the lightbulb moment hit.

Why keep searching for the perfect place when we could create it ourselves?

So, when we heard about a once-popular local pub that had been closed for some time, we decided to take a leap of faith. It wasn’t an easy decision — the place needed a lot of love, and we had a lot to learn — but we could see its potential.

We rolled up our sleeves, gathered our families and friends, and got to work. After months of renovation, paint-splattered weekends, and endless cups of tea, we transformed the pub into the warm, welcoming space we’d always wished existed.

Our vision was simple:

A relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere where everyone feels at home.

A delicious, affordable carvery and pub menu with something for everyone.

A play area and open space for the kids to enjoy while the grown-ups unwind.

Today, that vision is a reality — and it’s become more than just a place to eat. It’s a space for families, friends, and our community to come together, share a meal, and make memories.

So, whether you’re popping in for a Sunday roast, a midweek treat, or just a drink while the kids burn off some energy, know that this isn’t just another pub. It’s a place built from love, laughter, and a shared dream — a pub made by families, for families
